Second Lawsuit filed in the matter of a former monk received as a Nevada Episcopal Priest

Parry, 69, became a priest in the Episcopal Church in 2004 and until last month was the music director and assisting priest at All Saints Episcopal Church in Las Vegas. He told The Kansas City Star on Thursday that “my attorney has asked me not to say anything.”

Last month, Parry admitted to The Star that he had inappropriate sexual relations with several members of the Abbey Boy Choir from 1982 to 1987, when he directed the group.

The lawsuit, filed in Nodaway County Circuit Court under the name John Doe 48, seeks unspecified damages. It was announced Thursday at a news conference of the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests.

Read it all and if you want the lawsuit document is and if you want you can see the key legal document there (20 pages).

  1. Ralph says:

So, this latest boy “was 14 or 15 at the time”.

I guess that would be hebephilia, according to the politically correct clarifications of what I’d call (for simplicity, and in obvious ignorance) paedophilia.

I wonder how many more lawsuits there will be. I wonder whether something like this continued at the Las Vegas parish.

And it looks like someone has finally convinced him to stop taking to the media.

“He told The Kansas City Star on Thursday that ‘my attorney has asked me not to say anything.’”

I wonder who’s covering his legal bills.

Thanks again to T19 for keeping this very important story in the public eye.

  2. Larry Morse says:

Ralph, what difference does age make here – providing the boy is underage – whatever underage means. I particularly like “inappropriate sexual relations.” So there are appropriate relations with minors? L

  3. Br. Michael says:

Larry, as you well know the gay agenda is to lower the age of consent as low as possible. That way they can always claim consent.

  4. Ralph says:

To me, age isn’t relevant. Extramarital sex of any kind is inappropriate. Extramarital sex between a choir director and a choir member is inappropriate. Etc.

To some other commenters here, and on other blogs, it does seem relevant. Much has been made of a ‘distinction’ between paedophilia and sex with persons at or past the age of puberty. Some would celebrate such relationships as good and wholesome.

To me, this guy’s just another Roman Catholic homosexual paedophile priest, with the remarkable twist that he was taken into TEC by KJS in DioNEV, apparently with her knowledge of at least one past indiscretion, and apparently without proper additional vetting and due diligence.

I pray that he has repented, been forgiven, and that he hasn’t continued to have extramarital sex, since the incidents that led up to his leaving the Roman Catholic Church.

In a TEC parish, as an organist and a priest, he would have had access to persons of all ages.

The Safeguarding God’s Children program is icky, but it’s necessary.
